Mini dental implants are the smaller and sleeker alternative to traditional implants, but how much do they really cost? Many factors go into the expense of any procedure, including replacing your teeth with dental implants. While traditional dental implants are often more expensive than mini implants, it’s still important to understand where the price determiners come from, what Insurance companies will cover, and any financing options available to you. At Happy Smiles Family Dentistry, we want you to be well-informed about the procedure you’re looking for and its potential price. Understanding Mini Dental Implants
Dental implants are titanium posts we secure in your jawbone to restore your smile. By acting as artificial tooth roots, these implants help keep your jawbone healthy while supporting restorations like dental crowns, bridges, or dentures.
At Happy Smiles Family Dentistry, we offer two types of dental implants.
Traditional dental implants are the larger of the two and have many components. These implants need a sufficient amount of jawbone for placement, which, unfortunately, many patients don’t have. To remedy this, we offer additional procedures like bone grafts that replace lost bone material, which adds to the cost.
Mini dental implants are smaller in diameter and consist of only one piece. Their narrow diameter allows us to place mini implants for patients with minimal jawbone structure in just one appointment! Using a minimally invasive procedure, we secure your implant in place, where it’s instantly stable enough to support a temporary restoration.
Additionally, due to their single-piece design, one-appointment placement, and lack of bone graft, mini implants are around half the cost of traditional implants! A lower cost and many additional benefits make mini implants a reliable tooth replacement option for most patients. However, these implants are still made from high-quality titanium, which is expensive.
Fortunately, we’re here to break down that cost and help you understand what your treatment is worth.
Breaking Down the Cost of Mini Implants
The number one determining factor in the cost of mini implants is how many implants you require. While mini implants are one-piece rather than two (already reducing the price), the more implants you use, the more expensive your procedure will be!
For example, if you need to replace one missing tooth, we can easily accomplish that with one mini implant. However, if you need to replace all of your teeth for a denture restoration, we will use as many as 12 implants, depending on the implant denture you’re looking for!
Another cost factor to consider is if your insurance covers dental implants. Most insurance companies consider dental implants cosmetic, meaning they won’t cover the procedure. However, you won’t know what your insurance will cover until you check with your provider! Some companies understand the restorative properties that implants provide and will cover at least part of the procedure. In some cases, you may even have coverage on the restoration, if not the actual implant.
For those without insurance—or whose insurance companies won’t cover their procedure—we provide flexible financing options! We partner with various third-party financing companies that help break your costs into manageable monthly payments, allowing you to afford treatments on your budget!
